Heavy to Light and Airy

This is a post I've shown previously, but thought I would share today on Susan's Metamorphosis Monday at Betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com for those of you who might not have seen it. Some of you said you would like to see the previous red drapes hanging in the room so I've added them for this post.
I apologize if you have already seen this. Just breeze on by. ;)

To freshen up my room, I took away a lot of the heavy reds I had and pulled in a lot of creams to give it a lighter airy look for Spring and Summer like in the tablescape above.

The old McCoy vase is filled with moss and little bird eggs.

On my iron coffee table, I displayed a cream colored tray with shells I've collected from travels.

I love my crosses. They give me peace and tranquility.

Before I had heavy red drapes on the windows. I pulled them down and replaced them with cream sheers. I still can't believe it, but I bought the sheer fabric from JoAnn's on the clearance rack for $3 a yard. I came home and hung them with out very much sewing at all. In total, it took me less than 4 hours to buy, make and hang these curtains!

I bought these buttons to tie back the window treatments at JoAnn's too. I took tiny cream ribbon and ran through the buttons to tie them back.

Come in and sit awhile!

Happy Spring Fluffing! This is my very first time to visit your blog...what a beautiful home you have!!! Your new shears are fabulous...what a great deal you got on the fabric and I love how you hung them!!! They not only give your room a fresh feel but they also give it a very soft and romantic ambiance!!! Love your new vignette, you have some really pretty things...that table you have them displayed on is gorgeous!!!

Well, I'll have to go back through some of your posts and see if I can find a photo of the red drapes...I love red and have alot of it at my place!

The McCoy vase filled with moss is wonderful! I always change out my curtains for sheers in the summer. It really makes a difference having a lighter material at the windows. Yours look great and I like the little detail of the button tie back you made.

nice and airy, and I love all the small touches like the moss and egg filled vase. I did like the red, though, and hope you change that back when the weather turns chillier. Blessings, Barb
