A Basket of Goodies

My daughter's sweet friend got married this summer and we gave her a bridal shower. I wanted to give her something personal so first I found out her kitchen was black and red. I decided to give her utensils to make cookies and so now I know I have a black and red, cookie making theme to work with.

First of all, I bought her a cookie sheet which is the foundation for all the rest of the goodies in the basket. Now, what do you need to make cookies? A BOWL! So I bought a stainless steel bowl and placed it on the cookie sheet securing it with glue dots. (They will peel off easily.) In the bowl, I have placed a few wooden spoons to stir your cookie batter, of course. In the bowl and clearly visible, I have placed a homemade (with love) cup towel with her newly married initial appliqued on the front.

To top it off, I made a cute little red and black bow centered with a vintage black and rhinestone button that I found in my collection. Hanging from the bow are stainless steel measuring cups to measure her cookie ingredients. I made a custom card to attach to the front of the basket with a photo of homemade cookies from my own kitchen. BTW, That's my mother's Piggy cookie jar in the photo. I still treasure it and hope to fill it with cookies for my grandson soon. We have to carry on the traditions, you know. :=)

Now the story continues when my daughter came over and saw the basket and said, "Oh, I want a cup towel too!" And that progressed to an apron which we'll talk about next time. ;=)
