glitz in the bathroom

What's wrong with this picture? Yea, it's the recessed light hanging out of the ceiling. That wasn't hard, was it?

As long as we've lived in this house, I've always wanted a glittery chandelier hanging over my tub.

We finally got one! Isn't it gorgeous!
Come on in and take a look.
Looking at it through the mirror, oh, from all angles, it just glitters away!

I do have a question, though, from all you decorating gurus out there. See the medallion in the ceiling? I haven't painted it yet. What do you think? Should I paint it the same color of the trim on the windows, doors, and baseboard or should I paint it bronze to match the chandelier? Let me know what you think. I'd love to have your opinion.

Well, that night, I was so excited about my new chandelier that I just had to take a long soaking bubble bath.

And indulge myself in good smelling soaps and lotions.

awwwhhh....satisfaction is so sweet!

I'm sharing this post with others at Met. Monday and Blue Monday. Check them out!

Your new chandelier is beautiful and just perfect for the spot. The medallions are traditionally left white. If you paint it, it might compete with the pretty light fixture.

I love it, it looks so extravagant and luscious. And what better place for that than in your bath where you can take long luxurious baths!

That is a remarkable chandelier! It just sparkles --- perfect to look at while soaking in the tub.

I think you should paint the trim bronze like the hardware.

Love it! I would be the cleanest ever -- taking three baths a day!

I'm no decorator, but either white or a color to match the chandelier would work, I think. Happy Labor Day! Happy Blue Monday.

You forgot to put in the link to BLUE MONDAY. Please add it.

What a lovely room. I'll let the voices of those who have more decorating experience than me address your color issue. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I am one that doesn't care what is "usually" done. I would paint it to match the chandelier. It's definitely a personal choice. What looks good to you is what is important.
What a lovely bathroom!

Beautiful! I think the medallion should be the same colour as the ceiling.

love your post. what a great feeling when a job is finally done. If you want it to blend, same as ceiling. You could use a metallic paint pen to add some leaf details after you paint it to match the awesome details of the walls.

Wow that chandelier adds a wonderful punch of beauty to the entire room! I am jealous of your nails...Ha!...whenever I cut them that short I always get trouble when I jog or pacewalk --they inflame the skin.....I digress!!!

Pretty chandy. Paint the medallion. I would consider a larger one, to really compliment the chandelier. Nice.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha, it's so good to see someone spell it the "correct" way :) **wink**

I can't remember how I came to your blog but I am so glad I did!

We recently redid our bathroom and I was thinking a small chandelier would look wonderful over our roman tub but my hubby just gave me that look.

So today I showed him yours, and he said, that's really nice! So now I have to figure out how to go from a recessed light to put in a chandelier and of course go shopping for one!!

I don't know what you decided but I would paint the medallion to match the chandelier :)

Hugs,
Marsha
