Good Day/Bad Day??

"There are good days and there are bad days,
and this is one of them."

~ Lawrence Welk

How true is that! I didn't know Lawrence Welk quoted so many wise sayings till I found this one. I thought his thing was music. Oh well, half of you don't even know who he is and the other half don't want to admit they know of him. If you do you are admitting your age, of course. All I can say is, I was a mere toddler when we sat around the TV on Saturday night watching his show. (Oh my, remember the Lennon Sisters?!) OKAY! Enough! I'm off track.

Back to the quote. Good days and bad days - yes, indeed.

It's a GOOD day when you come home from Costco with a trunk full of delectable and luscious foods from around the world. (Well, maybe I'm exaggerating just a little.) But regardless, I did come home with a load of groceries!
It's a BAD day when you start to load your ref with your new bounty to find it has broken and all the food now in your freezer is thawing.
It's a BAD day when you have to unload the ref and freezer at supper time and you have a hungry toddler hanging on your pant leg. But it's a GOOD day when you're SIL comes home from Camp Shelby, a training camp for deployment to Iraq, to spend Thanksgiving with family! (which is why I came home with a trunk full of groceries)
And it's a GOOD day when you're featured on The Creative Party Place!

for my Autumn Inspired Party post.

It's always a GOOD day when the GOOD outweigh the BAD!

Have a GOOD day!

A non-working refrigerator, the week before Thanksgiving, is pretty shocking!

Perfect timing, right?

I am thinking of you-
my oven stopped working last year with the turkey inside.

Ahhh... and the lovely Norma Zimmer :)--there goes my age secret! Mine went out about two weeks ago. It's a mess when it happens! But yes, having your SIL and with you trumps everything else! Congrats on the feature!

Having your SIL home for Thanksgiving is a big reason to smile and to say all is good!!

But what a BIG bummer with the frig . . . Our new one needs to be fixed, it's leaking inside and the one that is over 20 years old that's in the garage is working just FINE!!! One reason we hesitate getting rid of it!

And yep, I remember the Lennon Sisters. And I used to love to watch Sing-a-long-with-Mitch!!!

Hugs,
Marsha

Oh...so sorry about the fridge, very frustrating, but at least you have groceries to fill it and family to share it with!! Boy do I remember Lawrence Welk! We still stumble across reruns of it ocassionally and stop to watch it for its good wholesome entertainment and those funny clothes that they (i mean WE) wore!

Sorry to hear about your refrigerator. Do you have an extra one? I know that sounds like a silly question, but we have two, one is in the garage, but we fill it up too. 6 kids can eat! I do remember Lawrence Welk and the Lennon sisters :-)
Blessings,
Marcia

Good Question! Yes, we do have a ref in the garage. Thank Goodness! Of course it was full too. I'm a hoarder. Storing up for a disaster or whatever. :)

Oh Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!
I know this pain. Today I had a new refridgerator delivered. Our Maytag (4 and a half yrs old) died and so a hunting we went to buy a new fridge. Of course this wasn't in the budget. So disappointed the fridge didn't last 18 yrs like the one we had before. Ahhh shucks.

I hope all goes well for you!
May you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Oh Marsha thats terrible about your fridge! When that happened to me a few years back I had to use all our coolers and a neighbors cooler and wasn't able to fix ours so we had to get a new one... Not in the budget either! Course I didn't just get home from Costco! YIKES!

Have a wonderful visit with your son in law. We also send out thank yous!

Congratulations on being featured. Yes - I sorta cringe when those "remember whens" come up, because so many of them I do remember. :) I am sorry! I had an oven to malfunction in the middle of cooking a turkey many years ago and it took twice the time to finish cooking. Same happened while cooking the Christmas ham, several years ago different home. Please tell your
SIL "Thank You" for me!

You're looking at the glass as half-full anyway! Hate non-working refrigerators though!

Isn't it funny that any home mishap happens when it is least convenient. I'm so glad for the good news but sorry about your freezer, yikes and a Costco trip no less.

This happened to us last Nov. when our ref stopped working just like that. So I feel for the "bad day" you had! But everything always works out..in God's perfect time.
Glad that the "good" outweighed the bad! Blessings.
