what's on your list?

The little squirrel stopped his gathering to greet me at my back door this morning. He's so busy this time of year. Which reminds me, IKES!

At this time of year with the change of the season and Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, are you listing all the things you need to accomplish? Yea, me too!

plant tulip bulbs
clean up leaves
plan thanksgiving menu
(should I have the same old thing or should I try some new recipes?)
clean silver
gather gift requests for Christmas
shop for Christmas
decorate for Christmas...oh no...not yet...I mean...thanksgiving

clean the attic (where did that come from??)

WHEW! I better get off this computer and get started!

What's on your list this time of year?

I love Christmas too much to decorate for Thanksgiving, so we'll be putting the tree up soon! Then there's Christmas shopping to be done, I've already planted all my bulbs, I need to book my flights to Texas for Christmas, got to get teacher gifts as the room mom, got to take the perfect Christmas card picture, got to order Christmas cards (and send them!), got to make goodies for Clinton to give away to the neighbors so he can start learning about giving, I've already put away kids summer clothes and restocked for winter, and whew, this list is giving me a headache...I need go back doing things as I think of them. Thinking of all of them first is overwhelming!! ;-) Can't wait to see pics of your Christmas decor!

What a cute visitor you had and YES my list is growing every day. Just found out my daughter volunteered my house for the first stop on a prgressive Christmas dinner.......now I really have to decorate and what kind of appetizers should I do and should I serve wine or just a little warm cider AAGH! I know I shall visit all of the wonderful blogs out there and gather ideas!!

I love squirrels! I never have my camera when they are on my deck, and you know they never stay long enough to run and get it.
Wow! I know this time of year gets crazy busy, doesn't it! I need to figure out my pies for Thanksgiving (the hubby does the main cooking), finish my Christmas shopping (I started yesterday online), finish some last minute decorating things before my daughter and sil come here for Thanksgiving. Clean - yuck!
And thanks for the congrats you sent me!

Every time I true to plan something else for holiday meals, my kids and grands have a fit. No, no, this and that and so I end up always having the same things. I can remember as a child looking forward to the things that my grandparents would do for the holidays for us. I never made baked oysters, they did. Now they are gone so no more oysters. My kids did not grow up with the oysters, so they are not favs of their's. Just enjoy the season dear.

Thanksgiving menu is pretty standard around here, as they request the same things each year. When I would try something different, it was the ole standbys that got ate. The only attention my "To DO" list has gotten in a while is when I add more to it.
Have a great weekend.

LOL Clean the attic??

Your list reads like my list. I'm already thinking it's time to bury my head in plump pillows and let the Christmas fairys take over. Yeah, I wish. :)

Well, way up here in the north (Canada), we celebrated our Thanksgiving on October 12. That gives us a rest between then and decorating for the holidays.
Both my daughters and myself start putting our decorations out about now because we figure if you go to all that trouble to deck the halls, you may as well enjoy it for a good long time.
Because our house is the smallest, we celebrate at one of our daughter's homes and we only have a table-top tree now.

I suspect we could all exchange lists and find they are all nearly the same. The one thing I have to do immediately is book plane reservations. The rest of it always falls into place.

I loved the "clean the attic" comment. I know when we get started, it seems we can't stop. Maybe you can put that one off until after Christmas :-)

My list looks much like yours. I took a peek at your thankfulness list and I have to agree, friends are one of those blessings that just keep on giving.

My list looks a lot like yours without the attic cleaning! haha!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving sweet words for me. I also heart my brown transferware. I found it for a song in an antique store in N.C. that was going out of business. I had it shipped to me and several arrived broken but lukily I had insured them.

Love your post for Sunday as well!

Aw, cute squirrel!!!

What's on my list?

"Start list"

Yeah. Since we've already had Thanksgiving up here in Canada, and I took down the Halloween decor today, I have a few weeks of R & R before the madness that is Christmas takes over.

A few weeks... don't I?

Oh, boy - I haven't even begun my list! I've got a room to finish decorating before we host Thanksgiving, so I suppose I better get busy. I'll think about Christmas stuff AFTER Thanksgiving. I love that holiday, and am so sad that people seem to rush through it, anticipating something better. Not me - I want to relish every delightful November day!

Your list is growing with great things, my friend. Keep it up!
