Cabin Fever, Tulips and a Tablescape!

Look what Cigar Man gave me for Valentines. I love em!

In the past, for birthdays and other holidays, he's given me the pre-made bouquets you buy at the grocery store. You know the ones? They usually include one rose, one lily, and LOTS of carnations. They're right pretty, but just not me. Roses have never been my pick to receive, nor lilies, and for sure not carnations. In the past, I've left subtle hints to Cigar Man that I like tulips, gladioluses, or even irises, but he's always come home with the grocery store bouquet, not a tulip, gladiolus, or iris included.

So what's different this year? Well, you know my daughter is living with us now and, well, I just mentioned to her a few days before Valentines the kind of flowers I liked. Wow! Word does get around. ;)

So I put them in this silver pedestal bowl that I had in the attic, stuffed a little moss around the top...

and VIOLA!

Don't you love em too?

It's been snowing here this week; probably like at your house if you live anywhere north of the equator.

We're running high temps from cabin fever.

(Trust me - if I'm doing Pilates, I'm suffering.)

So pulling together a tablescape around my tulips is true therapy! Can anybody relate?

I have somewhat of a tulip theme going on in my dining room. There's the tulip painting that I did in the corner, and the tapestry tulip pillows on the side chairs, and the table runner I made to match my window valance below...

which makes it even more surprising that Cigar Man didn't pick up that I like tulips.

Go figure?

Thought I'd use my wedding china this time, Wedgewood, Agincourt.

My wedding crystal is Lenox.

I've collected a few vintage bone dishes ...

...so I threw them in the mix too.

Included my green jeweled napkin rings...

checked place mats...

...a bottle of wine.

I don't know what it taste like, but it's silver and goes with my silver vase.
(Might as well be truthful with you all.)

And there you have a tablescape that hopefully compliments my gorgeous tulips which makes me happy and warm inside! Cabin Fever on the mend!

Check out other tablescapes at the gracious Susan's Tablescape Thursday!

Glad you got the silver pedestal bowl out of the attic. It is beautiful! Your tulips look great.

I have cabin fever too, but our snow is gone. Still is cold so I am yearning for spring. We are so spoiled in Alabama not to have much winter.

Your tulip arrangement is beautiful. I also like the tulip art on your wall. Don't worry about the wine- I buy wine sometimes because I like the art on the label!
