For Tablescape Thursday at Susan's Betweennapsontheporch, I'm previewing my table to be set at our church's ladies day this upcoming Sunday. You may have enjoyed ladies' days like this where various ladies cohost a table by bringing their own table decor and setting individual tables. Well, it's my first time to do this and I'm hosting a table so, of course, I had to set my table in advance - trial run, you know. My hubby thinks I've lost my mind since I've been decorating my table so much lately. :)
As you can see, the table is done in pink and silver, centered around the card designed for the day. (You'll understand more about the meaning of the card next week. Stayed tuned.) I love the verse on the card. In case you can't read it in the photo, it comes from Hosea 2:15 and says,
"There I will give her back her vineyards,
and will make the Valley of Trouble a Door of Hope.
There she will sing as in the days of her youth,
as in the day she came up out of Egypt."
On the card, a little silver key charm hangs on the old door-lock photo and is layered over fuchsia sheer ribbon, silver cardstock, and fuchsia and silver striped paper with lots of glittery sparkles.
You might have noticed the plates last week. They come from two sets of old vintage dishes I bought from a friend a few years back. The pink rose dishes are layered on silver chargers found at Big Lots and topped with silver napkins from Tuesday Morning. The same fuchsia ribbon used on the cards wraps it all up.
My old old pitcher (used to have a companion bowl, but the bowl's lost. :-( ) holds blossoms from a cherry tree in my yard. They just happen to be pink and go with my color theme. How lucky! You may remember the candleholders from a past post, but this time I filled them with pink and clear glass beads and votive candles.
My centerpiece items lay on a silver shawl I found in my closet! I love to go shopping around the house. You never know what you might find! I threw pink and clear glass beads on the shawl (now a table runner) to add a little more sparkle.
Next week, God willing, I plan to bring lots of tablescapes to you from our ladies day!
