Holiday Parties under the Trees

I was wishing for warm summer nights on this April Fool's Day and reminded that April brings hope for "holiday parties under the trees". So that made me reminisce of my daughter's wedding last June under the 200 year old Osage Orange tree at the Carnton Plantation in Franklin, Tennessee. What a "holiday party under the trees" it was! We had so much fun. I thought I would share some of the table designs with you for Tablescape Thursday with Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. My good friend, Elaine, took most of these photos. She should really do it professionally!

These were the buffet tables before the food was placed. As you can see, we used brown and robin egg blue as our color theme. Brown burlap went over the ivory tablecloths. (I love burlap-cheap and so cool!) Lindsay, my daughter has simple taste. She wanted it outdoorsy, but elegant.
Pamela's Parties in Springfield did the catering and the food was delicious!!! We had a southern supper with chicken tenders, fried green tomatoes, and macaroni and cheese. YUM! Her sister Sherry did the flower arrangements with blue hydrangeas tinted to match the color theme.
A close up of the cake topper - A clear acrylic disc with their engraved initials.

Our guests enjoyed a candy buffet filling brown boxes with blue gumballs, salt water taffy, Jordan almonds, or gourmet jelly beans. We printed the initials and stamped the blue flowers above on ivory paper matted with blue card stock.

Hydrangeas and curly willow secured in glass containers and filled with lentils were displayed on the guest tables.

Let's toast to summer nights! They're on the way!

Such a pretty wedding and I love the candy bar. Burlap was a good idea and I wish I had thought of that one but will file that idea for a later date. Thanks for sharing.
