I knew I was out of practice and control the morning I fed "pretty boy" lunch. Since his temperament told me he was way past ready for a nap, I didn't take the time to clear the table from our lunch before taking him upstairs to his crib. I followed my daughter's directions to a tee. (She doesn't remember that I raised her once.)
1. turn on his lullaby CD, push repeat button for naps, but not for nighttime
2. read him two books (not one, not three) while rocking
3. place him in his crib
What do you know? It worked like a charm. I was feeling pretty proud of myself when I went back downstairs to the kitchen to clear the table only to find the table had been CLEARED. I mean, there was not a crumb of food left on my plate or pretty boy's high chair tray (and, believe me, he left a MESSY tray!)
Can you guess who cleaned it? Jazzy, one of their miniature pinschers decided to help me out! That's right! She hopped up on the table and licked everything clean as a whistle and hopped back down before I reappeared! When I found her, she was hiding in her cage under her blanket. For the rest of our stay, I always cleared the table before leaving which greatly disappointed Jazzy.

Even so, it was a “freeze it in time moment" which is why I'm sharing with you today at Melissa's "It's a Beautiful Life Friday"!

Hi Marsha nice post!
Great job! He's a cutie!!
Your grandson is really cute!...he does look like he's all boy too.
Our grandson is all boy and quite the handful but we wouldn't have traded our time with him for anything.
Yep - I found out how out of shape I was when my Grands were little. He is a cutie.

Hi Marsha,
Your little grandson is so cute! How nice that your daughter and sil could go away together and know their little one was well loved and cared for.

Hi Marsha... :)
I remember those days of babysitting..I loved them. Now all of them are grown up and the youngest is now 16 years old and doesn't live close by. Recently his mother sent me a photo of him. I cried. He lives in Oregon. I have not seen him since he was 12 years old..and it is upsetting. He is the last grandchild that isn't grown up.
What an adorable child your little grandson is. Yes..I remember those days well.
Mona:)
Wow he's getting so big already! He's a doll!
