just doing a little catching up

goslings edited with blue boyou saturation 60 copy with watermark

And speaking of catching up, these little goslings aren’t so little anymore. They’ve really grown since I first discovered them residing in our neighborhood pond. There were four goslings originally and there are still four I’m happy to say, but they had migrated from one pond to another about a mile away. I was surprised they had traveled this far since they don’t have wings to fly yet. I would have loved to have seen them waddling down paved streets and through manicured yards to reach their destination. What a sight that would have been!

These little guys really love to eat. Speaking of that, so do I, eat that is. A while back, I was telling you about our household doing the South Beach diet. Well, I hate to admit defeat, but our daughter won the contest of losing the biggest percentage of weight after the first month. That’s okay since she got a well-deserved day off all to herself without the babies.

Although, we’re still watching what we eat, we’re not strict about sticking to the South Beach diet. We rarely eat breads any more and we’re exercising everyday.

Honestly, what works best for me is to count my calories. Eat less calories than I burn. Did you know that a pound is roughly 3500 calories? So, if you eat 500 calories less a day than you burn, you should lose about a pound a week. Theoretically, of course. Which means, in theory, if you eat a dozen HOT ones from Krispy Kreme, you have to work out at the gym from dusk to dawn to burn them off. J

Krispy Kremes! Yum! But I'd have to work out at the gym dusk til dawn for three months! Might be worth it..
Glad the goose babies are well and growing. Nature is so wonderful to observe.
Have a great day!

Oh but it is too easy to eat a dozen hot ones isn't it!!

The baby geese are adorable. I have been watching some from afar as well. ONly problem is they grow up to be adults that leave 'leavings' after eating all those weeks.

Over the weekend I drove by the baseball field my son plays at - completely covered with geese -

Next time he slips and slides in the outfield ... oh well - you get the picture!

Now how did you get these sweet little goslings to pose for your beautiful photo! It's perfect!

I am a calorie counter too... the only lasting way for me. Only sometimes I count too high :(

Oh what a sweet picture!!
I wish I could get motivated to lose weight......again.
I lost weight on the South Beach diet many years ago, but I couldn't stick with it, and gained the weight back again.
I think your idea of counting calories and exercise is a good one.....

Doesn't seem fair that it is so easy to gain and so darn hard to lose. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just decide what size you want to be and then go to bed and wake up the next morning at the size you want...and then just work on maintaining. What a dream!!

I was down your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago visiting my son. Went to the Nashville Zoo and ate at the Loveless Cafe while we were there. It was sad to see the damage from the flooding, though. I hope you were not affected by it.

The goslings are beautiful...great photos!

2 adult geese very casually strolled across a very busy street and post office parking lot Sat. afternoon. They would stop and look the cars waiting on them to move on, as if to say "we have the right of way". :D
Of course I did not have my camera with me.

I once watched Paula Deen make a bread pudding using Krispy Kreme donuts!!!! It looked sooooooooooooo yummy! Can you imagine the calories in that baby!

Our family is trying to eat healthier with more organic foods, fruits and vegetables. No more fast foods. Our son has Crohns disease and we do it to help him too.

Keep up the good work.
