Dickens of a Christmas

Hey, come on and catch an old fashion carriage ride to Dickens of a Christmas with me. We had a great time!

After seeing Kate's post at Chronicles of a Country Girl, I fell in love with the technique she used from Char at Ramblings and thought I'd try it out myself on the shot I took above.
Historic Franklin, Tennessee closes Main Street to car traffic and the people fill the streets enjoying all kinds of activities surrounding Charles Dickens, Christmas Carol.

There are lots of yummy treats to enjoy. No calories when you're just looking! :)

I believe this may be Scrooge himself walking the streets!

And here's one of the ghosts of Christmas pasts. My grandson's expression says it all! He's not to sure about this character! LOL!

Not only did moms, dads, grandparents and the little ones have a good time, but the dogs enjoyed it too! Interesting pair, huh?

We enjoyed all kinds of musical instruments as we strolled through the streets.

And with all that wonderful music playing, it's hard not to move your feet!

They even pulled me in on the action. As you can see, I was a little surprised, but it was great fun even if I did step on a few toes. oooops!

Love this....love "A Christmas Carol" ---in fact, year 'round, it's one of my favorites.

My Wednesday post this week, is "Sleigh bells ring---snow is glistening". Come by and view my snow village if you can find time.

This is great.. It looks like you had a lot of fun! We had our annual Christmas street festival-of-sorts where I live, but the rain spoiled the event this year. Oh well, I'll just wish for better weather NEXT year, because it IS a wonderful event for families, friends, and neighbors! LOVE that Christmas spirit!!! ~tina

I am loving your photos with the dancers as these are some of the young men and women that we go to church with and go to a homeschool co-op with. What a treat to see familiar faces. My daughter actually dances with this group at the co-op, she just doesn't travel with them to these festivities. Looks like you had a great time.

Merry Christmas and God bless.
