Wish I could tell you I found an old baluster
and transformed it into this really cool lamp.
NOT!
Can you believe I bought this lamp with the chipped paint and the burlap shade??
Oh, can you LOVE a lamp?
I DO!
Something new (especially something new that looks OLD) inspires me to
DECORATE!
How about you?
My old gate-leg table is a little beat up which, by the way,
doesn’t bother me in the least,
but I decided to drape some burlap over the top anyway. I just cut some burlap in a square, frayed the edge,
and layered it in a diagonal across the table.
I’ve enjoyed this old wooden bowl in many places in our home
and its served all kinds of purposes,
except for its original purpose that is,
kneading dough!
Only wish it could talk. Wouldn’t it have stories to tell!
Now it works great for storing current magazines and reading material.
The cherished jewelry box, a gift from my dad to my mom,
secures an embroidered hanky.
Nestled in between it all is a dainty Waterford clock, a gift also.
Add a comfy chair, fluffy pillows, and a window with morning light
and you have a cozy place to settle.
And since this is a tabletop in my little “cottage”, I’d thought I share with others over at
Cielo and Marty’s place.

I love it especially when I saw it in the actual room. Love the soft lighting and the soft colors in the room.
You have created a pretty and relaxing place to relax.
Marsha,
I love the look, old and beat up =patina you can't duplicate.
Warm and inviting.

Donna
Love it, Marsha. You are a gifted decorator.

Love your cozy spot, but you need a cozy blanket, hah.
Marsha, that is a gorgeous lamp! I can see why you got it. THanks so much for coming by & saying hello.
Such fun to fix things up a bit or change them around. It looks lovely. I have a smaller version of that jewelry box my husband got me in Switzerland years ago. It plays music when you open it, if you have it wound up.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Great photos! I know you like to participate in the tabletop meme at Marty's, so I wanted to tell you that tomorrow I'll have a meme too, that I think you will love! It's called Vignette Friday's, and it's all about tabletop vignettes, bookcase vignettes, garden vignettes - any vignette you set up, photograph, and want to share! If you're interested, please stop by! EVERYONE is welcome to participate, but I really hope you do! :) Thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing your vignette!
